Several years ago, when I was trying to help my son with his math homework, I made up this word problem:
Ben's girlfriend has a chastity belt with a combination lock. The instructions say "turn clockwise 2 full turns and stop at a perfect square between 20 and 30, turn counter-clockwise and stop at the cube of 4, turn clockwise and stop at a perfect square between 30 and 40, wait 10 years, get married, then open. What is the combination for the belt?
If that isn't enough to get one interested in math, I give up.
